Vietti
Located in the historic center of Castiglione Falletto, the winery was founded by Carlo Vietti at the end of the 19th century. It was already very innovative back then. With the 1961 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione, for example, they were one of the first to bottle a cru Barolo and with the 1967 vintage, they launched the first single-varietal Arneis on the market. The winery is still located in the same place today. In 2016, the American Krause family acquired the estate. However, Luca Currado Vietti and Elena Penna remained on board. After a transitional phase, they withdrew completely at the beginning of 2023.
Vietti has 80 hectares of vineyards, 20% of which are in Barolo. In recent years, the Krause family has expanded the product range to include some important crus in Barolo (Cerequio and Monvigliero since the 2018 vintage) and Barbaresco (Rabaja since the 2019 vintage) as well as vineyards in Colli Tortonesi, where the Timorasso grape variety is produced.
