Domaine de l'A
Domaine de l'A from the Côtes de Castillon satellite appellation is the winery founded in 1999 by world-renowned oenologist and consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt and his wife Christine.
The approximately twelve hectares of vineyards are mainly planted with Merlot and some Cabernet Franc from vines over fifty years old on clay and limestone. The vineyards are cultivated according to biodynamically inspired ideas and have been certified organic since 2020. Both malolactic fermentation and subsequent ageing take place in barriques, around fifty percent of which are new, depending on the vintage. The result is elegant, expressive wines with an excellent price-pleasure ratio. In 2023, Stéphane retired from his consulting firm of the same name and has since concentrated mainly on his Domaine de l'A!
