Domaine Jean Francois
The Domaine Jean François project was born out of a deep friendship between François Labet, owner of Chateau de la Tour in Burgundy, and John Terlato. Their shared passion for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and a like-minded curiosity about the world's great vineyards led to this collaboration.
The fourth generation French winemaker brings viticultural precision and an emphasis on terroir, John a great passion and a close bond with the unique personality of the Sanford & Benedict Vineyard. Domaine Jean François is a collaborative and fearless effort to grow the best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from an iconic and historic vineyard in California, inspired by a Burgundian heart.
Initiated, nurtured and nourished by two of the most spirited and dedicated winemakers around. The twelve rows selected for the Domaine Jean François Chardonnay are from the original 1972 planting, while the Domaine Jean Francois Pinot Noir comes from twelve rows of vines planted in 1999 on Dijon 667 clones - some of the most coveted grapes from the Sanford & Benedict estate.
