Tenuta di Arceno

Tenuta di Arceno was acquired by Jess Jackson and Barbara Banks in 1994. The estate, which covers over 1,000 hectares, is located on the southern edge of the Chianti Classico region in Castelnuovo Berardenga, a few kilometers from Siena. To achieve the highest quality, the team relies on the micro-cru philosophy, which divides each vineyard block into smaller sections.

Quilceda Creek

When Alex Golitzin founded Quilceda Creek, he heeded the advice of his uncle André Tchelistcheff: make a wine, and a good one at that. In the decades since then, Quilceda Creek has never neglected this focus and strives tirelessly for perfection with every vintage.

Catena Zapata

Bodega Catena Zapata was founded in 1902 by the Italian immigrant Nicolá Catena and is now the oldest family-owned winery in Argentina. It is currently run by Nicolás Catena Zapata and his daughter Laura Catena. Laura also founded the "Catena Institute of Wine", which is primarily involved in research.

L’If

In 2010, Jacques Thienpont decided to look for a new wine-growing project beyond the borders of Pomerol. He soon came across Château Le Haut-Plantey, a small estate on the plateau of Saint-Émilion in the Mondot sector. Jacques likes to name his wine estates after trees. In the case of Le Pin, the name comes from a pine tree that grows there. He christened his new acquisition in Saint-Émilion “If”, which is the French name for yew.

Craggy Range

Craggy Range was established in 1989 and is still owned by the Peabody family. It is situated in the shadow of the spectacular Te Mata Peak in the Hawke's Bay wine region.

Domaine Simon Blanchard

Simon is originally from the Loire and has been working full-time as a consultant for Stéphane Derenoncourt since 2006. Due to his origins, he favors the cru philosophy over the typical Bordeaux blending philosophy. The winery has been certified biodynamic since 2024.

Château Mont-Redon

With over 100 hectares of vineyards, the château is one of the largest. The grapes for the special cuvée Le Plateau come exclusively from the vineyards on the plateau, which are dominated by the classic large pebbles.

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion

The château is located directly in the city of Bordeaux, just 20 minutes from the city center. In 2010, Patrice Pichet bought the estate and hired Guillaume Pouthier as wine estate director, who had previously worked at Chapoutier on the Rhône, among others.

Chateau Brane Cantenac

The château was founded by the Gorsse family in the 18th century. Today, a total of 78 hectares are cultivated in the Margaux and Haut-Médoc appellations and around 250,000 bottles are bottled annually.

Inglenook

In the current issue of Falstaff magazine, the 2019 Rubicon from the Inglenook winery was awarded a perfect 100/100 points by editor-in-chief Peter Moser, while the 2018 vintage received an outstanding 97/100 points.

Château Troplong Mondot

Domaine Bournet-Lapostolle

In 1842, the Dutch merchant Mariusz van der Niepoort came to Porto and acquired shares in a recently founded port wine house. What has happened since then would make for a great family novel.

Favia

Favia is the joint project of two superstars in the Californian wine industry, namely vineyard manager Annie Favia and oenologist Andy Erickson. Both work and have worked for some of the best producers in Napa Valley.

Vietti

Located in the historic center of Castiglione Falletto, the winery was founded by Carlo Vietti at the end of the 19th century.

Château Tronquoy-Lalande

The 2018 vintage was a real statement vintage for Château Tronquoy-Lalande. Jancis Robinson MW rated Château Tronquoy-Lalande 2018 blind with 18.5/20 points.

The Princely Wine Cellars of the Prince of Liechtenstein

René Gabriel was already raving about the wines of the Princely Wine Cellars of the Prince of Liechtenstein and so we also became aware of them. The Princely Wine Cellars of the Prince of Liechtenstein operates vineyards in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, as well as in the Lower Austrian municipality of Wilfersdorf in the Weinviertel.

Alvaro Palacios

Álvaro Palacios grew up in Alfaro in the Rioja region at the family-owned Palacios Remondo winery. After studying oenology in Bordeaux and completing various internships, including at Chateau Petrus, he did not immediately return to his parents' winery in 1989, but founded his own in the Priorat region with the purchase of the Finca Dofi vineyard.

Montepeloso

We want to produce unmistakable wines from the Tuscan coast. This is the aim of Fabio Chiarelotto, who has been at the helm of the winery since 1999. Eighteen and a half hectares are currently cultivated as close to nature as possible.

Domaine Jean Francois

The Domaine Jean François project was born out of a deep friendship between François Labet, owner of Chateau de la Tour in Burgundy, and John Terlato.
 

Tour Saint Christophe

In 2012, Peter Kwok and his daughter Karen bought Chateau Tour Saint Christophe in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, on the border with the town of Saint-Emilion, in the neighborhood of Barde-Haut, Troplong Mondot and Tertre Roteboeuf. Today, just under twenty hectares are cultivated, around 80% of which are planted with Merlot and 20% with Cabernet Franc. The soils are characterized by red clay and Astéries limestone.

Domaine de l'A

Domaine de l'A from the Côtes de Castillon satellite appellation is the winery founded in 1999 by world-renowned oenologist and consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt and his wife Christine.

Domaine Isabel Ferrando

Isabel Ferrando actually worked in banking, but when her daughter Guillemette was born in 1997, she wanted to change her life. In just twenty years, she managed to break into the top group of wineries in the region and achieve numerous top ratings, including two perfect 100 points from the Wine Advocate.

Jean-Luc Thunevin became famous for his Chateau Valandraud, which he first vinified from the 1991 vintage in his garage. Today, he has long been one of the established addresses and also has a state-of-the-art, newly built winery and, since 2012, the red wine has also been classified as Premier Grand Cru Classe B.

Chateau Puygueraud

In 1946, the George and Monica Thienpont family, originally from Flanders, acquired Chateau Puygueraud in the Côtes de Francs appellation. Nicolas Thienpont (Chateau Pavie Macquin, among others) has been in charge of the wines since 1981 and has been supported by his son Cyrille (Chateau l'If, among others) since 2009

Paul Lato Wines

Paul Lato was born in Poland and made his first wine in 2002. What counts for him is authenticity, harmony and elegance.

Elvio Cogno

Elvio Cogno was originally a partner and cellar master at Cogno-Macarini in La Morra. In 1990, he bought a property in Novello, in the Ravera district - the foundation stone for his own winery. In 1996, his son-in-law Valter Fissore took over the management of the winery together with his wife Nadia.

Chateau Montlandrie

Chateau Montlandrie is located in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. In 2009, Denis Durantou bought land in the heart of Castillon-la-Bataille, where the last battle of the 100-year war was fought in 1453.

DuMol Winery

DuMol is one of the leading wineries for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in California. Winemaker Andy Smith first worked as a consultant and soon became a partner, constantly developing the style further.

Schrader 2021 

Release In 1998, Fred Schrader founded Schrader Cellars with his ex-wife, the well-known winemaker Ann Colgin. They did not have their own vineyards, but had long-term supply contracts with the legendary grape supplier Andy Beckstoffer.

Caiarossa

We recently visited the Caiarossa winery in Riparbella in Tuscany! We have been very impressed by the quality of the wines produced there for several years now. The comparison with various more expensive "aia" wines is certainly not to be shied away from. 😉
