2021 Riesling Saumagen GG Große Lage
The 2021 Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling GG from the Rings brothers opens clear and quite reductive on the nose but shows deep, ripe, elegant fruit in the background. Round and elegant in the mouth, this is a firm, grippy, still quite phenolic Riesling with a firm, fresh, pleasantly bitter as well as saline finish. It still needs time and especially aeration. 13% stated alcohol. Tasted in Wiesbaden, August 2022. (WineAdvocate)
