2023 Estate Reserve
Auslieferung im Frühjahr 2027!
Delivery in spring 2027!
We reach the summit. A great wine with that signature limestone vertically and minerality. This is more mineral than the others – more terroirdriven in a way. There are brilliant cedar notes. A touch of graphite too and a little lily of the valley with the natural floral freshness than implies. Walnut shell and a hint of new leather. Lanolin. Dark black cherry and damson, a little bramble and loganberry. The Estate Reserve is, as it should be, more ample, cooler at the core and almost more layered with lovely svelte sheets of silken fruit and pixilating tannins. Very balanced, very harmonious, resolutely fresh and with a seamless integration almost like its aged in magnum. The texture and the gentle grip of the tannins are both superimpressive. The best I’ve yet tasted from L’Aventure. 99.
99/100 Colin Hay
This has got to be one of the best examples of this wine that I have tasted, fragrant, aromatic, chalky in the best way, love the blueberry and black cherry fruit, alongside the freshly cut herbs, drawn out, poised, measured. Harvested right into November. Chloe Asseo director, Stephan Asseo owner and winemaker, from the Willow Creek district of Paso Robles. Name changed to Estate Reserve as of the 2022 vintage, 85% new French oak for ageing.
