(Saint-Émilion; 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon; a final yield of 32 hl/ha; 13.8% ABV; tasted first in Bordeaux and then re-tasted at Bélair Monange). In a vintage like this, one has great expectations for a wine from this address, and it doesn't disappoint. Indeed, there's a purity and succulence to this – and also a modicum less wood influence (notable, above all, on the palate). That lifts this above my already elevated expectations. This is a wine to covet. It has the most divine mouthfeel, somewhere between cashmere and silk and, as that perhaps suggests, is wonderfully lifted and aerial. The delicate hint of florality is delightful, as is the briary dark berry fruit signature. I can sense bramble stains on my fingers, so fresh and vibrant is the fruit.

Always an enjoyable estate to taste, firm and tight in its tannic architecture, plenty of lift and grip, smoky oak, campfire and grilled almond, cold ash, highly savoury, and the coffee-laced finish is impactful. You need to trust this over ageing - track record suggests giving it the benefit of the doubt. One to follow. Harvest September 27 to October 4. 50% new oak. 32 hl/ha. Tasted twice.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Clos Saint-Martin bursts with pronounced notes of preserved plums and baked black cherries, plus nuances of cedar chest, pencil lead, and Chinese five spice, with a waft of tobacco. The medium- to full-bodied palate delivers chewy tannins and a crisp line with savory-laced baked black fruit flavors and a firm finish.
93-91/100 Lisa Perrotti-Brown
Intense and soft cherry infested nose, very fresh and precise, with lots of fruity and spicy notes. This is a well built, classic wine and a success for the vintage ending in a crunchy aftertaste of silky fruit. It should be ready to be enjoyed early on.
