Gunsmoke and flint reduction, the structure and power is clear, gorgeous and juicy, unrolling to show white peach, gooseberry, preserved lemon, grated ginger, mint leaf. Give it time in glass or carafe, as this is structured and full of hidden nuance. Unfiltered and unfined. Rick Kinzbrunner owner and winemaker. 30% new oak, Burgundy sourcing, their own selection and drying, Alea and Vosges. A small crop after a small fruit set. Second time tasting, last time as a barrel sample, and I am holding the score.
