Tenuta di Arceno
Tenuta di Arceno was acquired by Jess Jackson and Barbara Banks in 1994. Prior to that, it was owned by several historically prominent Italian families. The estate, which covers over 1,000 hectares, is located on the southern edge of the Chianti Classico region in Castelnuovo Berardenga, a few kilometers from Siena. To achieve the highest quality, the team relies on the micro-cru philosophy, which divides each vineyard block into smaller sections. Each micro-cru corresponds to the grape varieties, clones, rootstocks, and viticultural practices best suited to that terroir constellation. The micro-crus are cultivated, harvested, and vinified separately, each becoming a unique expression of its particular plot of land. In the final stage of the winemaking process, different micro-crus are blended together to create a complete wine.
