Chateau Montlandrie
Chateau Montlandrie is located in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, just 20 minutes by car from Saint Emilion. In 2009, Denis Durantou - known as the owner of L'Eglise Clinet - bought land in the heart of Castillon-la-Bataille, where the last battle of the 100-year war was fought in 1453.
After acquiring the land, he immediately began to replant the vines one by one. Only his own vines from L'Eglise Clinet were used. 12 of the 28 hectares are currently planted with vines. Around 70% of these are planted with Merlot, with the remainder split between Cabernet Franc and more and more Cabernet Sauvignon. The soils consist mainly of clay mixed with limestone and silex. Unfortunately, Denis passed away far too early in 2020 at the age of 62. Since then, his daughters Noëmie, Constance and Alix have been running the business.
