Chateau Les Carmes Haut Brion
The château is located directly in the city of Bordeaux, just 20 minutes from the city center. As the vineyards are surrounded by the city, the microclimate is warmer. This leads to higher ripeness and protects against frost. In 2010, Patrice Pichet bought the estate and hired Guillaume Pouthier as wine estate director, who had previously worked at Chapoutier on the Rhône, among others. He introduced the use of stems in the winemaking process, a technique more commonly used in the Rhône or Burgundy.
