Chateau Branaire Ducru
Patrick Maroteaux and his family recognised the untapped potential of this sleeping beauty and bought Château Branaire-Ducru in 1988. They decided to write a new page in the history of this fourth Grand Cru Classé in 1855. Extensive remodelling and renovation work began on all the elements needed to create a great wine: Vineyards, fermentation cellars, wine cellars, but also the residence, the most important face of a château.
Patrick Maroteaux is also an ambassador for Bordeaux and Branaire-Ducru, who headed the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux from 2000 to 2008 and was President of the AOC Saint-Julien from 2004 to 2017.
François-Xavier Maroteaux took over the management of the estate in 2017. The story continues...
