Is fine wine only good when it is old?
The ideal drinking age depends on many different factors, including the grapes used and the type of ageing. Some wines can be stored forever and are still good, while others are better drunk young. For some wines, the time window for drinking is also longer than for others. Here you will find a selection of different vintages that are now at the peak of their drinking maturity: Ready to drink wines
Where can I find out more about the wineries?
We regularly present one of our suppliers in our “Featured” category. Of course, you can also read about past presentations. If you don't want to miss the latest presentation, subscribe to our newsletter!
What is the Bordeaux subscription?
Simply explained: the Bordeaux subscription is a kind of pre-sale where you can buy wine that is not yet ready.
Every year in spring, the En Primeur tastings take place in France, where our team travels to Bordeaux and tastes the current vintage. These grapes were freshly harvested in the fall and the wine is still in the barrels of the châteaux, where it will be matured over the next few years. Nevertheless, our experienced team can already get an impression of the potential of the wines in spring.
Our team is back in May and the Bordeaux subscription begins. New wines will be released almost daily in May. This means that from this moment on, the wines are online in our Fine Wine Shop and you can pre-order them. We will keep you informed about the latest releases on social media, via newsletters or in real time with WhatsApp messages. Pre-orders will be accepted until the end of June, but only until our quota is exhausted!
If you have pre-ordered a wine, we will deliver it in around two and a half years. By then, the wine will have been bottled and is looking forward to maturing in your wine cellar.
Does fine wine always have to be expensive?
No. In our range you will find many wines under €30 that come from renowned châteaux. Another hot tip: many châteaux produce a second wine that is much cheaper than the main wine.
