Chateau Gazin
The Pomerol growing region developed between the 12th century and the French Revolution under the aegis of the Knights of St John of Jerusalem, known as the Knights of Rhodes, known as the Knights of Malta. Château GAZIN was a small village in the 18th century and is probably located on the site where the knights built the "Hospital de Pomeyrols" to accommodate pilgrims on the Way of St James. The name of the second growing area, "Hospitalet de Gazin", is a direct result of this.
