Hudson Vineyards
Hudson Vineyards, located in Carneros in the southern part of Napa Valley, is an estate covering over 800 hectares, nearly 81 of which are planted with vines. The first vineyards were planted here as early as the late 1830s. Robert Lee Hudson, originally from Texas, bought the ranch in 1981 and brought in his first harvest in 1983.
Hudson Ranch is best known for its Chardonnays from Wente clones. Among the 27 customers for the grapes are such renowned names as Aubert, Kongsgaard, Kistler, and David Ramey. Originally, all the grapes were sold until 2004, when the ranch began bottling a small quantity itself.
