Autumn wine tips
In this series, our Sales Manager Hannes Wolf presents his personal autumn wine tips. These wines are perfect for cosy hours alone or with friends during this cold season.

2021 Riesling Colette Cuvee
Domaine Weinbach
The 2021 Cuvée Colette from Domaine Weinbach is made for the beautiful autumn days - and goes perfectly with autumn classics such as goose, mushrooms or stews. Fresh, lively and delicately flavoured in the glass, it immediately invites you to drink it. Notes of white fruit, delicate flowers and a subtle minerality make it elegant and charming - a wine that makes you want to take the next sip and makes the autumn sun feel that little bit warmer.
Particularly exciting: the grapes come from a plot at the foot of the famous Schlossberg vineyard, from old vines that have been bearing fruit for decades. Domaine Weinbach has been working biodynamically here since the 1990s, which gives the wine additional depth, expressiveness and vibrancy. An autumnal white wine that perfectly combines character, terroir and drinking pleasure.

2018 Barbera d'Alba Pre-Phylloxera
Elvio Cogno
The 2018 Barbera d'Alba Pre-Phylloxera from Elvio Cogno is a wine that immediately arouses curiosity. It comes from Barbera vines that are over a hundred years old and still stand on their original roots - a real treasure. In the glass, it shows rich dark cherries, blackberries and a fine spiciness accompanied by a lively acidity. This makes it powerful, but at the same time charming and accessible.
Elvio Cogno is a traditional winery from the Langhe, known for its precise craftsmanship. The 2018 Pre-Phylloxera vintage is perfect for cosy autumn evenings when you take time to enjoy the wine - whether on the sofa, while reading or during an evening with your loved ones.

2021 Châteauneuf du Pape Colombis
Domaine Isabel Ferrando
The 2021 Colombis from Isabel Ferrando brings an autumnal warmth to the glass that immediately delights. The pure Grenache from Châteauneuf-du-Pape shows juicy red fruit, fine herbal flavours and an elegant, silky texture. Despite its power, it remains supple and charming with its supporting acidity. Its complexity invites you to take your time and discover the wine over the course of the evening.
Behind the wine is Isabel Ferrando, one of the most exciting winemakers in the Rhône Valley. Since the early 2000s, she has characterised the Domaine Saint-Préfert with a clear signature and a great feel for Grenache. She is now supported by her daughter Guillemette. With the Colombis, which has been the parade cuvée since 2004, she shows how elegant, lively and at the same time profound the grape variety can be - a real character wine for autumn. This is Rayas for 'clever', as we have four plots here, including Rayas.

2016 Les Pagodes de Cos
Chateau Cos d'Estournel
The 2016 Les Pagodes de Cos is a wine that reveals its balance of ripe fruit, fine spice and elegant freshness from the very first sip. Dark berries, some tobacco and subtle roasted flavours make it a great accompaniment to dishes such as goose, lamb or hearty stews. It brings depth without being too overpowering - just the thing for cosy evenings when the days get shorter.
Its history is linked to a real cult winery: Cos d'Estournel in Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux. Les Pagodes de Cos is the estate's 'second wine' and offers the unmistakable style of the Grand Vin in a slightly more accessible form and at an unbeatable price-performance ratio. The 2016 vintage is also considered one of the best of the last decade.

2019 Cheval des Andes
Cheval des Andes
This cuvée of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Co. contains a great blend of dark berries, spice and a fine freshness - just what you are looking for on cooler days. With its soft tannins and elegance, it goes wonderfully with autumn classics such as goose, game or an aromatic mushroom dish.
The history of the wine is just as exciting: in the early 2000s, the Argentinian winery Terrazas de los Andes and the legendary Château Cheval Blanc from Bordeaux joined forces. Their aim was to combine the power of Andean Malbec with the finesse of Bordeaux. The 2019 shows how brilliantly this works.
