Fine Wine Mission Bordeaux 2026
Fine Wine Mission Bordeaux
Our Highlights from Bordeaux's Wine Paradise
Our sales team recently travelled to Bordeaux to prepare intensively for the upcoming September Releases. We were welcomed and accompanied by our Courtier Timothée Moreau from Bureau de Grand Vin, with whom we share a trusted and valuable partnership. The personal exchange on site strengthened not only our long-standing cooperation but also our shared passion for Fine Wine, exclusive premium wines and international wine culture.
The focus of the trip was on exciting wine tastings, personal conversations and valuable insights into the international Fine Wine world. In addition to current Bordeaux vintages, we had the opportunity to discover and taste exceptional wines from the New World. We were particularly impressed by the outstanding Wines from Australia , California and Chile , which impressively demonstrate how diverse, innovative and quality-driven the international wine landscape has become.
Another highlight was the selection of exclusive Champagne , which perfectly complemented the tasting programme. The journey to Bordeaux once again demonstrated how dynamic, multifaceted and fascinating the world of great wines truly is. The direct exchange with experienced wine experts and long-standing partners provides us with valuable inspiration to continue offering our customers a carefully curated selection of international Fine Wines, premium wines and the most exciting new releases from the September Releases.
Great Names, Exciting Tastings
A special highlight of our journey was the personal exchange with Charlie Matthews, Export Manager of Opus One. The focus was on the tasting of the renowned wines Opus One and Overture, which rank among the most recognised premium wines from the Napa Valley. Both cuvées represent exceptional quality, elegance, depth and impressive ageing potential on a global scale.
The exclusive tasting provided valuable insights into the philosophy and craftsmanship of one of the most renowned wineries in California. The direct exchange with Charlie Matthews once again highlighted the international significance of Opus One and the fascination of great Fine Wines from the USA. Such personal encounters and tastings allow us to continuously enrich our portfolio with exceptional premium wines and bring exclusive wine experiences from the world's finest wine regions closer to our customers.
Wine Picks for Terrace, Garden and Dinner
The visit to Négociant Joanne also provided exciting insights into the upcoming September Releases of the international Fine Wine world. As part of an extensive wine tasting, we had the opportunity to taste around 90 exceptional wines and engage intensively with current vintages, new market developments and exclusive premium wines from the world's most renowned wine regions.
The following lunch provided the perfect opportunity for personal exchange and in-depth discussions about trends, producers and the international wine market. Among the highlights of the tasting were the legendary Penfolds Grange , the iconic Philipponnat Clos des Goisses as well as Promontory – three exceptional wines that represent outstanding quality, distinctive wine styles and the diversity of renowned wine regions such as Australia , Champagne and Napa Valley.
Bordeaux as a Meeting Point of the International Fine Wine World
At the CVBG Tasting with Elodie Buil , further exceptional Fine Wines were at the centre of attention. Among others, we tasted the outstanding wines from L’Aventure and Clos Apalta – two internationally renowned wineries that impressively demonstrate the level of quality achieved by wine regions beyond the classic European growing areas. The direct comparison of different origins, grape varieties and wine philosophies was particularly fascinating, reflecting the diversity and dynamism of the international Fine Wine world.
The visit to Négociant Joanne also provided valuable insights and unforgettable moments of enjoyment. During a shared lunch, we tasted some of the world's most significant premium wines, including Penfolds Grange, Philipponnat Clos des Goisses and Promontory. These exceptional wines each represent the excellence of their regions of origin - from the Australian wine icon Penfolds Grange, to the legendary Champagne Philipponnat Clos des Goisses, through to the impressive precision of Promontory from the Napa Valley. The tasting impressively demonstrated how differently great wines can express their origins while uniting the highest quality and international reputation.
