2025 Grüner Veltliner Burgenland
From a vintage with, finally, enough rain and normal rather than extreme summer temperatures and from vineyards between Illmitz and Podersdorf that were planted for ice wine about 25 years ago, the 2024 Grüner Veltliner trocken offers a deep, intense and spicy bouquet that indicates a serious substance for such a young wine that spent five months on the fine lees. Ripe seed-fruit aromas intertwine with almost flinty, seriously mineral notes. Elegant and refined on the palate, this is a medium- to full-bodied, savory and textured Veltliner with a serious structure and a stimulating saline and grippy finish. This is an excellent wine to have with food. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork (only in the US market, otherwise stainless steel). By Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
Silver - The Drinks Business 2025
The 2025 Grüner Veltliner comes from vines planted just over 20 years ago, originally intended for ice wine and now used to make this dry wine. The nose is subtle and offers lovelv notions of moss and fern. This bone-dry style is pure, slender and superbly fresh, striking a lovely balance with a slight shimmer of white pepper. (Bone-dry) - Anne Krebiehl (Vinous)
