2020 Clos Dubreuil
Touch of pencil lead and slate aromatics, this is an excellent wine, packed with cassis, blueberry pastille, raspberry, smoked earth, cocoa bean and espresso. Clear complexity in the construction, stil muscular tannins and depth to the texture, with an impressive length through the finish. The wine seems to have been worked so that it will be approachable within five or six years, but will hold the line for a good few decades. 60% new oak, Michel Rolland consultant. A small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon in this, but co-fermented, so isn't counted in the blend. 18hl/h production, a tiny yield after a dry summer.
