This is immediately fuller and more balsamic. Richer. Very aerial and lifted; vertical aromatically. Pure, crystalline and with strikingly pixilated fruit once more – raspberry and loganberry here, as if painted in great detail with the finest of brushstrokes. Gracious. Plump. Plush. This almost glistens as it glides over and caresses the palate. The tannins are soft and supple, gently supporting the long and exquisite finish. Deceptively substantial. Really superb. Another ‘best from here’ from Michele Chiarlo in this fabulous vintage. So pure fruited and with great clarity.

Medium intensity red cherry, this is crushed rose petals, dusted sugared almonds, hint of orange blossom, so fragrant and delicate, spirals up out of the glass, a total knockout, love it. One year in bottle after two years in cask. Harvest October 10 to 13. Stefano Chiarlo winemaker, from 1ha of 50 year old vines in the village of La Morra, first vintage 1988. Fermented in 55hl oak vats.
