2015 Ulysses Napa Valley Red Wine
The tannins retain some angularity even at the decade-plus mark, the body is layered with chocolate, cocoa bean, aniseed and fennel. Delicious, plenty of forward motion but less depth of layers than the other two vintages. This feels like a bridge between the early years of this wine, and the stunning vibrancy of today. The vines were just six years old on average at the time, a year with a cool rainy start then a very hot finish. Tod Mostero winemaker.
