2023 Malbec Cobos
Auslieferung im Frühjahr 2027!
Delivery in spring 2027!
Almost a little hint of struck match. Iris, violet and peony. A little hint of smoke too. Quite red berry fruited at first, with darker damson coming through with more aeration in the glass. A savoury note of game. Gracious, poised, plush and plump this is lithe and limpid in character, juicy, vibrant and essentially fresh. There’s a little hint of wine gums too. Not quite as ample in frame as the 2022, the tannins entering between the layers and accentuating the sensation of depth and profundity. The tannins are grippy, beady and persistent (one thinks of the limestone present here at altitude) and they give a very tactile sense to the midpalate. In the context of a vertical tasting this is a little different in form in the mouth with less amplitude but greater vertical range and depth. Fabulous on its own and brilliant too when set in the comparative context of a vertical of all the vintages of Cobos from 2018. 98+.
