(Pomerol; 92% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc; 14% ABV; tasted at Bélair Monange in the impressive Moueix line-up). Glossy, almost a little polished in its fruit signature, with highly refined and gently extracted tannins, a delightful floral lift accompanying the red and darker berry fruits. There's a little wild thyme and a hint of damson. With aeration we find a little cherry stone too. I've liked this a lot in recent vintages and I like this again. Svelte, but with an impressive sense of density and concentration. Linear and gently tapering on the juicy, refreshing finish where one picks up again that note of fresh thyme.

I always have high expectations for Bourgneuf, and for second year in a row (for very different reasons) I am hesitating over the wine in the glass. There is plenty of fruit here, but it is high concentration of oregano, fig and cherry pit , with espresso and cocoa bean. impressive and intense, just needs a little more light. One to retaste in bottle. Harvest September 4 to 12. 35% new oak for ageing.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2025 Bourgneuf comes barreling out with bold notes of stewed black plums and boysenberry preserves, followed by suggestions of Indian spices, camphor, and Sichuan pepper. The medium-bodied palate offers firm, lightly chewy tannins and a lively line to frame the stewed black fruit flavors, finishing long and spicy. The blend is 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. It is aging 12–14 months in French oak barrels, 35% new.
88-90/100 Lisa Perrotti-Brown
Fresh and juicy with a fine light bodied layer of fruits and red currant this is fine and fresh vintage of Bourgneuf. It has well integrated tannins and a long aftertaste and will need 3-4 years of cellaring.
