2021 Blanc de Duhart Milon
All eyes on DBR Lafite whenever they start a new project, making this first (released) vintage of Duhart Milon Blanc a particularly interesting addition to the growing number of dry white wines produced by 1855 estates in the Médoc. Dominant Sémillon, with a deliciously juicy white pear, nectarine and stone fruit character, balanced by sage, white pepper, slate, even a touch of mint leaf. It's understated but with structure, reflecting the fresh sculpting of the 2021 vintage for whites, ad makes for a strong start for this wine. Integral vinificaton in barrel, no new oak. Just 1,000 bottles produced from 1.7ha of vines located on a strip of limestone within the Lafite terroir (in fact close to vines for the new Anseillan bottling), approaching the Estuary.
