Tucked into the prestigious slopes of Gevrey-Chambertin lies a Premier Cru with the heart and soul of a Grand Cru: Estournelles Saint-Jacques. Perched just Above the famed Clos Saint-Jacques and facing southeast into the cool, windy corridor of the Combe de Lavaux, this vineyard enjoys optimal sun exposure and mineral-rich, calcareous-marl soils. Historically, this site ranked among Burgundy’s finest climats, on par with Ruchottes and Charmes Haut. Yet during the Grand Cru classifications of the 1930s, the voice of Côte Saint-Jacques was overlooked. Today, its exceptional terroir is being rediscovered and celebrated for what it truly is: a hidden gem with Grand Cru elegance and aging potential. Our 2023 Estournelles Saint-Jacques is a wine of quiet strength and understated grandeur. A cuvée born of a great vintage, an extraordinary site, and a hands-off winemaking philosophy.
