Rich plum colour, this has a kick of spiced pepper on the opening giving a flash of heat, then settles to show mint leaf, cassis, brambled blackberry, hawthorn, cocoa bean and chewy tannic frame. Harvest September 7 to 19, 50% new oak for ageing.

The 2023 Latour a Pomerol, 100% Merlot, is deep garnet-purple in color. After a swirl or two, notes of juicy black plums, boysenberries, and star anise come barreling out of the glass, followed by suggestions of cracked black pepper and cardamom. The medium-bodied palate is plush and fruity, with a refreshing line and mineral-laced finish. After 62 years of exclusive farming, the J P Moueix family were able to purchase this estate outright in 2024.
