2025 Lynch Bages
Auslieferung bis zum Herbst 2028!
Delivery until Fall 2028!
Damson, cassis, bilberry, a wine that doesn't feel so far away from the very top vintages of the estate, clear expansion in the mid palate, with an uncompromising architecture that has the supple tannins of a warm year, with pomegranate, incense, blackberry, cedar, slate, crushed rocks. Excellently put together with juice, promise and personality. 3.68 pH. 75% new oak. Harvest September 9 to 21. Jean-Charles Cazes owner, along with his three sisters, Nicolas Labenne technical director.

(Pauillac; 66% Cabernet Sauvignon; 28% Merlot; 3% Cabernet Franc; 3% Petit Verdot; a final yield of 30 hl/ha; pH 3.68; IPT 86; 13.3% alcohol; tasted at the UGCB press tasting at the Cité du Vin and then at Lynch-Bages). Divine aromatically, with a radiant purity and a bulby florality that would put many Margaux classed growths to shame (notably in this vintage). It is underscored by the cedar that is already very present here. On the palate this is sumptuous and has an opulence and majesty rare in this vintage even in Pauillac, the most opulent and majesterial of appellations. Reassuringly classy, with depth and profundity, this is a great wine in the making.

An explosive surge of energy defines the 2025 vintage of Château Lynch-Bages from the very first moment. Driven by an almost instinctive pursuit of power, it releases the strength, tension, and momentum of a great Pauillac with the force of a volcanic outpouring, sweeping across the palate. And yet, when you embrace that power, there is no sense of harshness. Instead, a veil of finely textured, powder-like tannins settles gently, enveloping the palate. Within this depth of power, blueberry juice and cherry continue to resonate with clarity, like an aria sung in a softened voice, waiting for the right moment, around 10 years of aging to fully reveal its voice.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Lynch-Bages needs a little swirling before it jumps from the glass with energetic notes of crushed blackberries, black cherries, and cassis, leading to hints of sassafras, tar, and iris with a touch of chargrill. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers savory black berry layers with firm, grainy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing long and earthy. The blend is 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. It has a pH of 3.68 and the alcohol is 13.3%. It is aging for 18 months in French oak, 75% new.
