(Saint-Julien; 40% Cabernet Sauvignon; 45% Merlot; 15% Cabernet Franc; 13.5% alcohol; tasted at the UGCB press tasting at the Cité du Vin). Reassuringly Saint-Julien aromatically, and indeed very 'Barton' too - but which one? It's that good. Walnut and hazelnut shell, frangipane, cedar, graphite, cassis and black cherry. Plump, plush, luminous and layered, there's a lot of wine here. I was less impressed by the 2024 but this is back on form in the context of the vintage. Succulent and sapid on the finish. 93-95/100 Colin Hay
It is widely said that berries in Saint-Julien were particularly small in 2025, yet the vivid and refreshing palate of Château Langoa Barton leaves nothing to question. Clear cherry juice and crystalline plum infusion glide effortlessly across the palate, polishing the wine’s concentration into a seamless, supple texture. Only once you are fully immersed do the mature phenolics of this warm, dry vintage begin to reveal themselves, transforming into fine, powdery tannins that quietly inscribe the signature of 2025. 93-94/100 Alexandre Ma
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Langoa Barton comes bounding out with exuberant notes of fresh red plums and black cherries, followed by hints of pencil lead, black olives, and bay leaves. The medium-bodied palate is energetic and refreshing with fine-grained tannins and a savory finish. The blend is 45% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc. The alcohol is 13.5%. The wine is aging in French barriques, 60% new. Lisa Perrotti-Brown 93-94/100
Langoa is very much a wine of the moment, with a sense of energy and punch, and you get that here, juicy and characterful, raspberry and cherry pit, hard to beat in terms of pleasure delivery. Great stuff. Very drinkable wine. Tasted twice, love the energy here. 93/100 Jane Anson
