2020 Blend II
The 2020 Blend 2 trocken is an assemblage of Zweigelt, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from Illmitz's sand and gravel soils. It was aged in predominantly used barriques for 30 months and reveals a beautifully clear, fresh dark-red color and opens with a perfectly ripe and aromatic dark berry bouquet with notes of cherries, black berries and cassis intermingled with delicate toast and black tea as well as leather nuances. Very elegant and refined on the palate, this is a medium- to full-bodied blend that was once created by Alois Kracher. The wine reveals a certain roundness and smoothness, whereas the finish is intense yet still a little bit astringent. By Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
