Creamy blackberry, mulberry, kirsch, cocoa bean, concentrated raspberry and black cherry fruits. There are spices running through the palate, and this is exuberant, with a touch of heat but the backbone of fresh acidities remains in play. An enjoyable wine that should be ready in the next year or two to begin drinking. At this point there was a move towards innovation, with defining choices being made around barrels, corks, extraction times, vineyard plantings and more.
