2018 Domaine de l'A blanc
The 2019 Domaine de l'A offers up aromas of sweet berry fruit, licorice, cigar box and spices, framed by a deft application of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, bright and seamless, it's fleshy and concentrated, with lively acids and ripe tannins, concluding with a long, precise finish. Stéphane Derenoncourt's own estate, this property today amounts to some 20 hectares on south-facing clay-limestone slopes and the plateau above them, planted with some 70% Merlot and the balance Cabernet Franc. It's farmed organically and biodynamically, but remains uncertified for the time being. Given how well older vintages are drinking today, readers shouldn't hesitate to cellar this. (Wine Advocate)
