The 2017 Grüner Veltliner Lion is clear, fresh and aromatic on the nose, with ripe pear and yellow apple aromas. Lush and fruity on the palate, with a nice lees-texture and some soft bitterness on the finish, this is a somewhat intense and fruity Veltliner with lots of ripe and juicy pears, a good grip (from the lees aging) and power. Good aging potential. Tasted September 2018.
