2011 Les Carmes Haut Brion
The 2011 Les Carmes Haut-Brion is a blend of 42% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot, and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, and there was no whole bunch fermentation this year. Deep garnet in color, it gives up evolving scents of tobacco, new leather, and smoked meats over a core of blueberry preserves, redcurrant jelly, and prunes. Medium-bodied, the palate has loads of earthy sparks intertwined with intense black fruits and chewy tannins, finishing with an herbal lift.
