Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Fontenil is a little broody to begin, soon unfurling to offered pronounced notes of cast-iron pan, Chinese five spice, and espresso over a core of fruitcake and prunes with a touch of new leather. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with pepper and exotic spice layers, framed by chewy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing earthy.
