Georg Breuer, Deutschland
Zesty lemon and lime strongly marked by their pips share aromatic and palate billing with moss, wet stone and iodine, making for a grippingly-piquant, minerally-concentrated performance whose austerity is underscored by a firm texture and palpable density. Musky and savory suggestions of iris root along with an invigorating nip of radish lend further intrigue to an implacably penetrating and persistent finish. To say that this wine is more formidable than fun would represent understatement; but it’s also utterly fascinating.
