Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt, Deutschland
This thoroughly dry-tasting bottling brings together fruit from ancient vines in Kaseler Nies chen and Niedermenniger Herrenberg (the latter, alas, since pulled up). White peach, white currant, lemon and lime combine for a penetratingly piquant and brightly juicy performance. This boasts some of the same tingling sense of energy as the corresponding Nies chen Grosses Gewächs, allied to mouthwatering salinity and stimulating stony and smoky impingement. The finish grips, invigorates and refreshes.
